Do you want to run your own business? Do you have a brilliant idea, but need a bit of help to get it off the ground? We are here for you, with the Brilliant Black Country Ideas Den.
Rachel here, founder of Creative Active Lives CIC. Creative Active Lives is a Black Country based organisation, although we deliver across the UK. A lot of people are facing challenging times at the moment, us included, but I want to help. With a grant to help someone who has a brilliant idea make it reality.
I will provide a grant of £500 to kickstart your idea and mentoring, you will also be able to access free Start Up Business Support from SWEDA. There is only one grant available, but my dream is that this could become bigger with the capacity to support more businesses. If any business owners out there would like to sponsor a grant or a prize, get in touch.
Why am I doing this? I was given a £500 grant to try out my business idea, by Unltd. And it was a life changer for me. Sometimes all you need is a bit of help, a bit of cash, and someone remind you that you got this. So now it’s time to Pay It Forward.
You don’t need to already have a business or any experience – just an idea you want support with trying out.
Applications open Monday 6th July, and the deadline is Monday 10th August. We will collate the applications and make a shortlist, who will be interviewed via Zoom. On the panel is Rachel Conlisk, Founder and Director of Creative Active Lives CIC, and Steve Parker of ICD (International Company Development), who also presents the Business Show on Black Country Radio every Friday, from 1-3pm.
